Suzuki confirm GSX 1250FA details

The GSX1250FA features rake and trail figures (25.3 degrees and 104mm) with 43mm front forks and the single rear shock absorber featuring spring pre-load adjustability.

Featuring Suzuki's proven 1255cc power-plant equipped with Suzuki's sophisticated digital fuel injection system, the GSX1250FA offers superb throttle response and feel with improved range and reduced emissions. This, combined with highlights such as large intake (31mm) and exhaust (27mm) valves, Suzuki's own nickel-phosphorous-silicon-carbide cylinder coating, to reduce piston friction and a 6-speed gearbox.

The GSX1250FA offers digital ABS as standard and an adjustable seat. With handy additions such as a gear position indicator and shift light as part of the functional and easy to read instrument cluster, the rider is kept fully-informed.

Motorcycle Sales Down!

Yesterday the Motor Cycle Industry Association (MCI) released August's sales figures for powered two-wheelers.

7,020 new powered two wheelers (PTWs) were registered in August 2009, totalling 79,897 this year. An 18.2 per cent fall on 2008 and a fall of 30.5 per cent on August 2008!!!

However the Department of Transport's National Survey gives a positive boost to biking here in the UK, revealing that over half (52%) of all motorcycle trips in 2008 were made for the purpose of commuting. The National Travel Survey also found that the average motorcyclist uses their bike as their main mode of transport for over one-third of all trips, making 8 motorcycle trips a week, and travelling 80 miles.

Ride safe.
