| Aprilia SRV850 |
Last month UK Aprilia dealers were able to offer us the new Aprilia SRV850 maxi scooter. This is the most powerful scooter currently available, pumping out an amazing 76bhp from a V twin engine and a maximum torque of 76.5Nm at 6,000rpm. This is the same engine as found in the Aprilia Mana 850.
The SRV850 is 5kg lighter than a Gilera GP800 and has a double cradle frame made of steel trellis pipes with reinforcing and rigidity plates.
The SRV850 has a coefficient of stability at full power similar to a motorcycle (1 rad/sec) and almost twice as high as a conventional scooter which means it can reach lean angles of 45°, with exceptional stability and extraordinary road holding.
The line between motorcycles and scooters continues to blur, with motorcycle levels of performance now available in the maxi-scooter segment.
